Design and Technology at Chipping Warden Primary Academy

Design and Technology is about providing opportunity for children to use creativity and imagination to design and make products that solve real and relevant problems, considering their own and others' needs. Making mistakes is a huge part of Design and Technology and integral to learning.

Children should also develop skills alongside the design process related to a range of technologies, such as moving mechanisms, food and more. We want our children to be able plan and design a product for a purpose and to evaluate their designs by critiquing both appearance and appeal to a specific audience. Our skills taught are progressive and build overtime to provide children with a range of techniques that they can draw upon.
